Welcome!

Mr. K at the Smartboard

This is an ePortfolio site for Taner Karakas. I received my undergraduate degree from the School of Engineering at Florida State University (FSU) and my graduate degree from the School of Education at University of Bridgeport (UB).

Currently, I teach math at Greenwich High School. I have been teaching middle and high school math for over 15 years and have taught every pre-requisite course from Pre-Algebra to AB Calculus.

This is a representational site, containing pertinent course work, student teaching exemplars and current teaching resources. While most of the content is public, some of it is only accessible with my permission. Contact me at tnrkrks@gmail.com for a password to login to these reserved sections.

The ePortfolio is organized as follows:

  • About Me area contains a detailed resume, mission statement, undergraduate and graduate transcripts, letters of recommendation, Praxis II scores and Secondary Mathematics Teaching Certificate.
  • Resources area is a compendium of links to websites in my content area that I’ve found to be particularly useful.
  • Courses area contains artifacts of learning for each course in the Masters in Education program that I have completed.
  • Student Teaching area contains exemplars from my teaching experience.
  • TEAM area contains reflections from my field practice that are relevant to fulfillment of TEAM program requirements.
  • WMS page dedicated to supplementing my teaching.
  • Hobbies area to reflect about myself personally.
